I made a preliminary list of some possible scenarios for my thesis-project. I hope to have some more ideas the coming days. The accompanying illustrations are made with images from Shutterstock.
Scenario 1
Mother brings her child back home from school. Once at home, the child takes his favorite toys out of the closet and starts playing with them. After a couple of hours, the toys are everywhere. When it is time to eat, the child leaves everything on the floor as it is. After dinner, he turns on a table light which is shining a bright green colour. During playing he notices that the green light is fading away. The child knows it is time to clean up all his toys and go to bed. He knows that the better he cleans up his toys, the longer he can stay up the next day (or in the weekend)
The light gives an indication when it is time to go to bed. The better he cleans up his stuff after playing, the longer he can stay up the next day.
Scenario 2
It is Friday evening and there is a discussion whether the house should be cleaned or not…
A- I already used the vacuum cleaner on Monday so I don’t think it is necessary.
B- I know but i think there are a lot of dust particles since our cooking ventilation is broken.
A- OK, let’s see what our ‘wall’ says.
They go to one of their interactive paintings and they notice an increased ‘activity’ on it.
A agrees to help clean the house.
Later that evening they check back their ‘wall’ and see that they did a good job because they see a greatly reduced activity on the ‘painting’.
The “special interactive painting” on their wall visualizes how much dust there is in the room/house.
Scenario 3
After mother put her baby to bed, she returns to the living room. Father -pointing to an interactive painting- congratulates her because the baby is already quiet. Mother and Father are watching television until they notice that the painting is now more red. The baby is awake and they should go watch.
The ‘painting’ replaces the use of a babyphone. With it you can see if your baby is sleeping or not.
